KSK Marching Band
( Majorette's & ColorGuards)

The RISEN CHRIST FEAST in Smokey Mountain were started in "SALUBONG". Image of Risen Christ and SorrowFul Mother were headed in Church. After Easter Mass the Kasiyawan Festival is held.  The Festival is to rejoice the triumph of Risen Lord.

Together with KSK Marching Bands Majorette's & Color Guards streets was manifested by hyperactive merriment.  The dancing on the rhythms of the drums makes this festival very similar to the Mardi Gras celebration in Rio in Brazil.

A "Rondalla" is an ensemble of stringed instruments that are played with a plectrum or pick. They originated in Spain but became most popular in Philippine folk music after their introduction to the islands during the 19th century.

The word "rondalla" is from the Spanish ronda, meaning "serenade." The core instruments of Spanish ensembles are the guitar, the banduria, octavina and the baho de arko (bass). Rondallas usually are accompanied by at least one singer and sometimes by percussionists playing handheld instruments. Though ensembles of stringed instruments have existed in some form in Spain since at least the 16th century, this form dates from the early 19th century, and it soon thereafter traveled to the Philippines, which was a Spanish colony at the time.

KSK Church Choir

The KSK Youth Choir
provides a place for the younger members of our parish to develop and expand their own musical gifts and to grow in faith as they learn to lead our congregation in singing God’s praise. The youth choir rehearses on Saturday Evenings and sings at one Mass every Sunday, as well as at the Christmas and Easter Masses.

The future of our music ministry lies with our youth.
All youth are encouraged to come and share their voices in joyful song!

KSK Art's Guild

The KSK Arts Guild consists of volunteers who wish to enhance the parish liturgies by sharing their God-given gifts with others.  Anyone who plays a musical instrument or has been blessed with a singing voice is invited to join.  The KSK Youth Dancers enriches the "PANULUYAN" "Pastores a Belen"  (Christmas Eve) presentation, "Liwanag at Dilim" (Easter Vigil Mass) and the "Kasiyawan Festival" among others liturgical functions with their music.
